Oh yeah - and I've been a video editor and motion graphic animator for 14 years and have spent hours squirting at compression artifacts in video to the point where I can instantly tell whether the 1080 rez video I'm looking at really is native 1080 or up sampled 720.Then I come on here and laugh my ass off at teenagers who claim they can always tell the difference and point out that I'm obviously not a video expert like they are:-/. I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just curious; Why do feel like I can tell the difference between real 1080p and up-scaled 1080p/720 pretty easily? Am I just lying to myself? I worked at Sony style for years and never felt dishonest telling people 720 wasn't as good for actually 1080p content (not just hdtv).was I an asshole?I have 'there will be blood' in 720p torrent and the actually bluray(which I'm pretty sure was filmed in 1080p/24.
I really really feel like there is a difference. My tv is 46' and has 120hz and I sit about 8 feet away. Is it the compression of the file? The 'motionflow' or just my Tv's calibration?No disrespect, I just want to know why my eyes are playing tricks on me.
